The first question is always the same: what the price covers and what it does not. Clearing weeds, washing the stone, replacing flowers, raking the plot — these are separate jobs, and every company bundles them differently. Ask for the list and the frequency before you pay anything.
The second question is about proof: how will you know the visit happened, when you live far away. Then ask whether the company really works at that cemetery, who goes out to the grave itself, and whom you contact if something has happened to the stone or the railing.

Answers to your questions
How do I ask about price so nothing extra appears later?
Ask for a single clean-up and for regular care to be quoted separately, along with anything billed on top, such as seasonal pruning or travel to a cemetery outside the city. With us the figure is settled on the phone, before any work starts.
How can I be sure the work was done if I am abroad?
Ask what form the confirmation takes and how soon it reaches you. Then ask whom to contact if the result is not what you expected, and whether a visit can be repeated. Clear answers to those three questions tell you a great deal.
Does it matter which cemetery the grave is in?
It does. One plot sits inside the city, another is several hours of driving away, and that shows in the price. Name the cemetery and the section when you call so the answer is accurate: we cover the whole country, but trips are scheduled ahead.
